Gamification can provide a fun way to learn and we all need
a little more fun in our lives. If you are having fun while learning, then you
are more likely to retain the information. It can also help with engagement of
the learners during class time.
While this article is directed to corporate training these ideas can be used in a classroom setting as well. Gamification can be a simple as prizes for participation, small candies work great. You can also have your learners come up with games in small groups and use them on the other learners. These are also great ways to study, I’m going to study chapter 2 then take a break with an enjoyable activity. Then come back to do chapter 2, then take another break. You are using an incentive to study and the spacing effect (see previous article).
